Le Pain Quotidien Restaurant Review:

The smell of freshly baked goods in the air greets you as you enter Le Pain Quotidien, or “the daily bread.” Organic breads include baguette, whole-wheat, rye and five-grain raisin, among many others. Organic jams, butter and other spreads as well as a menu suitable for all-day dining make this Belgian creation a round-the-clock hit. Local ingredients are highlighted in the breakfast/anytime fare, such as tartines or Belgian open-face sandwiches on organic whole-wheat or sourdough with oven-roasted chicken, smoked mozzarella and tomatoes, and arugula, tomato salsa and basil oil, or smoked salmon with avocado, scallions and dill. Other diverse items include a vegetable quiche with Gruyère, leeks, spinach and mushrooms, and a curried chicken salad with curried yogurt chicken, scallions and cranberry-harissa chutney.
