Unexpectedly good food and 1940s-style décor at this lively, young spot on the Canal Saint-Martin. Open until 1:30am.
L'Hotel du Nord Restaurant Review:
The original setting for Marcel Carné's 1938 film by the same name, this young and trendy spot was since renovated to reflect a charming 1940s-style décor. Unexpectedly good food turned out by chef Pascal Chenaut includes a lentil salad with pork grilled "ventrêche," royal sea bream with fig chuntey, cheeseburger with matchstick fries, and crème brûlée. Music is subtle until 10 pm. Count on €40 à la carte.
