Libertador Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: You might think you’ve been transported to Buenos Aires at this open-air parrillada on the Upper East Side. The room has an industrial vibe offset by colorful murals and chalkboard menus. The youngish crowd is loud and boisterous and the outdoor seating in the warmer months adds to the party atmosphere.
Likes: This is carnivore heaven.
Dislikes: The restaurant can get annoyingly loud when full.
Food & Drinks: Dining choices will please anyone who loves Argentina with the restaurant’s many grass-fed steaks cooked a la parrilla, salads with palmitos, provoloneta and empanadas. The grill menu lists nearly a dozen options, and guests can watch their steaks being made at the eight-seat meat bar. Argentine wines are offered along with selections from Chile, France, Italy and Spain. For dessert, try the dulce de leche ice cream with an authentic yerba mate (Argentinean herbal tea).
