The Library Restaurant Restaurant Review:

The Library’s menu doesn't change much, but when you have a craving for a good steak, this is the place to go in Portsmouth. Stop by the lounge to peruse the massive martini list, or have a glass of wine from the well-curated selection, heavy on California reds. The dining room brings back the Mad Men era for business dinners or family gatherings. Start with the seafood tower for two or Thai beef salad with lettuce wraps. The lump crab meat cocktail is a simple toss of chilled crab with a tangy mustard sauce. Steak lovers will enjoy the filet mignon in one of two sizes with a house-made steak sauce or a traditional béarnaise. There's Kobe steak, but a better option is the cowboy cut with 24 ounces of marbled, intense flavor. Grilled salmon in beurre blanc is another favorite. Sides include a huge salted baked potato, creamed corn made with corn fresh from the cob, and nutty mashed cauliflower. Chocolate mousse is a must, a classic end to a comforting, familiar meal.
