Lono Restaurant Review:
Chef David Lespron (Katsuya) and beverage director Mike Lay (Broken Spanish) have debuted this glamorous tiki spot in Hollywood. Expect an Old Hollywood vibe and iconic rum-focused tiki drinks including the mai tai, Samoan Fog-Cutter and Jungle Bird. Specialty tiki bowls for six to eight imbibers run from $120 to $450. Food items range from oxtail steamed buns and kung pao ribs to a Spam musubi bowl, Kuai fried chicken and green papaya salad. In the Green Room, a reservation for four or more people is required to try the “luau” menu, which features Santa Barbara spot prawns, Peking duck, pork belly and a deluxe Hawaiian platter.
