Lum-Ka-Naad Restaurant Review:

This family-owned restaurant specializes in authentic dishes from the diverse northern and southern reaches of Thailand. Northern dishes are crossovers that show the influence of neighboring Burma (stewed pork curry with tamarind, ginger and Lanna Thai-Burmese curry powder), China (crispy fried tofu with sweet-and-sour sauce) and Laos (sai oua, a flavorful sausage served with fresh ginger, chiles and peanuts). Northern specialty khao soy, curry egg noodle with chicken, proves that Thai food doesn’t have to be roaring hot to be flavorful. Super spicy southern selections include pla pling, grilled fish in curry sauce, wrapped in a banana leaf, and tai pla country curry soup, made of smoked fish with fermented fish paste and eggplant. Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee help soothe the heat. Sweet sticky rice with mango makes a good finish.
