Maddox Ranch House Restaurant Review:
This family-style ranch house off Highway 89 has been luring folks from every corner of Northern Utah for more than fifty years. What started as one central dude ranch dining hall has morphed into a maze of mismatched rooms, which were added to accommodate the growing demand for the homemade rolls and cornbread, raspberry butter and indulgent entrées that range from bison chicken-fried steak to the "Top of Maddox" --- a plate stacked with filet mignon, fried shrimp and fried chicken. Waiters attentively attend to tables, but once your food is served, they disappear, leaving you to your thick cuts of tender meat and loaded baked potatoes. Unfortunately, the token steamed vegetables are an afterthought, so skip them and finish your meal with a slice of homemade chocolate cream pie or Snickers ice cream pie. Maddox also has a drive-thru for burgers and sandwiches if you prefer to feast at home.
