About the size of a handkerchief, this Arlington eatery has drummed up quite a reputation, despite the fact that it can’t seat more than 20 people or so at a time. The reason is rock-bottom prices, hefty portions, and right-on flavors. For example, lamb vindaloo here crackles with heat and flavor, a far cry from the typical bland slop most Indian places dish out. But its very informality and diminutive size---to say nothing of its nonexistent décor---makes this place an unlikely candidate for winning top awards. In fact, its menu mixes Northern and Southern Indian cooking, usually considered a negative among those who know the various regional cuisines. But for cheap, flavorful eats you’d have to travel pretty far and wide to find its equal.
