Mayta's Peruvian Cuisine Restaurant Review:
Authentic Peruvian food now graces the rural/suburban town of Frederick, and this restaurant is a place for locals to learn about the flavors. The well-trained chef not only captures the tastes, but he also presents each dish with a graceful layout. Peruvian music and some Peruvian artwork set the scene for such dishes as carne asada, papas rellenos, aji de gallina (spicy creamed chicken with rice) and a first-rate ceviche. Two versions are offered of the latter, but we recommend the Mayta’s ceviche garnished with toasted Peruvian corn and a wedge of fresh corn with its gigantic kernels. Be sure to wrap up your meal with the tres leches cake. It would be easy and tempting to stop in every day to eat one’s way through the menu. Consider pairing your meal with beer, wine or one of the sparkling cocktails, such as the passion fruit mojito.
