Mediterraneo Restaurant Review:
Tune out the sights and sounds of cars zooming along Greenwich Avenue and just taste the cuisine at Mediterraneo. Your palate will be convinced that it's dining along the Greek, Italian or Moroccan coast. Authentic nautical décor is seen in a highly polished planked floor and bar top, and coiled lines hanging from the ends of the banquettes. Cross-the-Ionian Sea delicacies include a grilled marinated lamb kebab, kofte, spiced basmati rice and tzatziki sauce. Pizza with plum tomato sauce, Italian sausage, red onions and hot cherry peppers recalls flavors from the Italian peninsula. The menu also pays homage to seasonal and Mediterranean flavors with appetizers like charred Spanish octopus with sliced potatoes, dried chorizo sofrito and preserved lemon, as well as a Tuscan kale and vegetable soup with smoked pork, white beans, ditalini and olive oil. If you don't have a yacht, set sail for Mediterraneo. You can even eat on the afterdeck --- sorry mate, we mean the outside patio. Service is professional.
