The Melt

The Melt Restaurant Review:

The Melt is a fast-food sandwich shop dedicated to grilled cheese. Technology is a part of the design: place your order online, if desired, and monitor its progress on the large digital order board over the counter. Choose from a selection of several grilled cheese sandwiches, a handful of soups, combos of the two, and a list of "sweet melts," including an angel food cake and jam combination. Also available are soft serve ice cream, milk shakes and all-day breakfast dishes (beginning at 11 a.m.). Other than drink cans, all packaging and cutlery are compostable. The interior is spartan, with plywood-like washed wood tables and clean white walls emblazoned with signage in signature orange. Other locations throughout California.
