French pastries plus Thai food equals a unique gastronomic experience.
Absolute Thai Restaurant & Patisserie Restaurant Review:
Absolute Thai’s chef specializes in French pastries, and she may win more hearts with her caramel mousse and unusual pandan coconut chiffon cake than she will with the pad thai and chicken satay with a spicy peanut sauce. But even though the sweets beckon, don't skip the main meal: massaman curry and drunken noodle dishes are better than average, showing off the chef's culinary skills, as does the papaya salad. A proficiency in pastry is also evident in such savory dishes as the seasonal fruit in phyllo, while Western influences show up in the grilled rack of lamb, pan-seared mahi mahi, and grilled lobster tail. The kitchen turns out artistic plates, perhaps to compete with the gilded sweets and cupcakes in the upfront pastry case. If you really crave a Thai dessert, you will find the traditional mango and sticky rice and fried banana rolls. But how can you turn down a wedge of toffee crunch cake? For locals, good news: the restaurant offers delivery service.
