Al di La Restaurant Review:
Al di La offers classic Northern Italian cooking in a charming, intimate setting. The kitchen presents such dishes as tagliatelle with duck confit, porcini mushrooms and truffle oil; and ricotta and mascarpone gnocchi with shrimp, grape tomatoes and basil, which is available in two sizes. The cheese plate features hard cheese drizzled with heady truffle-scented honey and soft Gorgonzola with lavender honey. Nightly specials often include both a fresh fish and a beef option. Housed in a former private space, Al di La also has a bar area called The Bacaro, where pizzette, salumi, cheeses and vegetables constitute a menu of small plates. The all-Italian wine list presents a variety of grape types and regions, plus a number of excellent values; some choices are priced under $30. Dessert selections vary daily.
