Amoo's House of Kabob Restaurant Review:
This popular Persian eatery in McLean has an elegant interior and a lengthy, robust menu that scans the entire food world of this Middle Eastern country. Start with hummus, the soup called ash-e-reshteh, and the eggplant offerings, which set the scene for such entrées as lamb kabobs and the traditional chicken-pomegranate stew fesenjoon. The kitchen pays great attention to traditional flavors and textures, and even makes its own pita breads. Dessert selections are limited to just two choices, but if you’ve never enjoyed Persian ice cream, do not skip this version made with saffron and pistachios. No time for a sit-down meal? The restaurant offers an active carry-out service.
