Azucar Tapas Restaurant & Cocktail Bar Restaurant Review:

This Logan Square restaurant manages to steer clear of the gimmicky feel we’ve come to expect from local tapas joints, offering instead a romantic, intimate setting and small plates full of big flavor. Some of the more savory morsels include the queso de cabra (soft goat cheese with tomato-basil sauce); patatas bravas, cooked to crispy and smothered with paprika aïoli; and alcachofas salteadas (grilled artichoke hearts). There’s plenty for carnivores, too: lomo de cerdo tenderloin pairs with dried blueberries, toasted farro, arugula, pistachios and pomegranate gastrique, while the vieiras salteadas (scallops) feature paprika, caramelized onions, mushrooms and Serrano ham in porcini mushroom sauce. Saffron gelato is available for dessert. When the weather is warm, grab one of the patio tables.
