B&O American Brasserie Restaurant Review:
Named for the legendary Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) railway line, and located in said railway’s landmark Beaux-Arts headquarters, the B&O American Brasserie looks just as it should: masculine and understatedly sophisticated. Think faux-crocodile walls, rich burgundy accents, and design elements based on vintage dining cars and Golden Age railway terminals. You may even luck into a train-oriented film showing on the big-screen TV. There’s more than atmosphere and nostalgia on tap, though; the upscale comfort menu utilizes eco-friendly ingredients sourced from local produce markets and boutique-scale farms. Choices may include Colorado lamb chops, a Prime aged NY strip steak with béarnaise sauce, and Maryland crab cakes. Sharable small plates, charcuterie and flatbread pizzas are also part of the mix. Potables are a big deal, so be sure to browse the cocktail list.
