Ba Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Highland Park is an emerging dining destination, and Ba is a major part of that development. This endearing bistro, founded by artist and chef James Graham and sculptor Julia Latané, showcases their friends’ artwork, as crystal chandeliers add a romantic touch in a tasteful dining room limited to about 25 guests. Consider beginning with a velvety duck liver mousse or ample charcuterie board, before moving on to bistro classics like beef bourguignon, steak frites or duck confit. Vegetarians will be pleased with dishes like butternut squash soufflé, and for dessert, there’s crème brûlée, chocolate soufflé cake or a nice cheese board. The brunch menu features quiches, duck confit hash and eggs Benedict, as well as pancakes, establishing a nice new tradition in Highland Park. The wine list is short, affordable and almost 100 percent French.
