Blu Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:

Savor views of the Folly Beach Pier and Atlantic Ocean only a couple hundred yards away while enjoying a meal at one of the few waterfront restaurants in Charleston. It's almost impossible to get a table that doesn't offer a wide-spectrum vista of the ocean. Executive chef Franklin Kirkman maintains the restaurant's platinum certification from the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative. Local shrimp and Geechie Boy grits join all the usual breakfast favorites. At lunch, salads and sandwiches such as mahi fish tacos join sharing plates for light fare. Bistro steak, crab and scallop gnocchi and crispy snapper anchor a pleasing dinner menu. Classic crème brûlée and a warm brownie napoleon drenched in hazelnut ganache satisfy the sweet tooth, as does the Key lime “pie” martini. Selections on the wine list span the globe, and range from sparkling choices such as Prosecco, cava and Piper Sonoma from California to ports. Despite the restaurant’s elegance, it draws a beachy crowd, but at dinner, do don nice resort attire.
