Boccaccio's Restaurant Review:
Ambience trumps cuisine at this lakeside restaurant, but if you order judiciously, you can enjoy some satisfying dishes presented by gracious servers. The dining room, with its beamed ceilings and other quasi-rustic touches, is dominated by a lovely view, and patio tables are coveted during appropriate weather. Starters include a very lightly dressed, somewhat timid Caesar salad, beef carpaccio, and a pleasant seared ahi salad with fried onions and sweet wasabi vinaigrette. Pass on the veal Parmigiana and opt instead for a well-made pasta dish, such as black and white lobster ravioli with a sherry cream sauce and sautéed shrimp. From the grill you'll find filet mignon and herb-crusted rack of lamb. For dessert, there’s tiramisu, cheesecake and croissant bread pudding. A wine list, with California and Italy most predominantly represented, is moderately priced.
