Brennan's Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Carrying on a rich gastronomic tradition, local restaurateur Ralph Brennan is now at the helm of Brennan’s. This incarnation of the restaurant tips its culinary hat to the legacies of its former owners. To say the place has undergone a "facelift" would be an understatement. Not only is the interior updated and elegant, but the building has been somewhat reconstructed. Fortunately, the courtyard and massive wine cellar are intact; the wine list is among the most extensive and complex in the city.
Food & Drinks: The menu mixes the old with the new. The signature breakfast Eggs Hussarde (house-made English muffins, prosciutto, hollandaise, marchand de vin sauce) is available, along with a Caribbean milk punch that goes down easily. For dinner, chef Slade Rushing (formerly of MiLa) offers the best turtle soup in New Orleans, and Creole spiced lamb chops that will bring you back. Bananas Foster is a must --- Brennan's invented it.
