Bruno's Restaurant Review:
Bruno's has seen more than its fair share of failed face-lifts. For a long time, it was better known for zebra-striped carpets and a weird Vegas-lite atmosphere than its cuisine. At one point, the restaurant side of the club turned out a $30 Italian-American prix-fixe menu fortified with all-you-can-drink house wine. Then, under the oversight of Broken Record alums Ryan Ostler and Katharine Zacher, dishes, not carpets, attracted customers with a taste for the duo's free-spirited approach to American comfort food. Now, the team has moved on, but Bruno's remains a storied bar and club, and plans to reinstate food at some point down the road.
