Cafe Prague Restaurant Review:
Morrison, Colorado, isn't a town that typically conjures up the sights and smells of the Old World. But the authentic and hearty central European fare served at Café Prague does just that. The décor --- leather banquettes and mural-lined walls --- matches the food: inviting and comforting. We like the starters --- rich escargots bathed in tangy butter, pâtés --- but often skip them to leave more room for the main attractions. We have a few favorites, including the behemoth bohemian combination platter for two, featuring one quarter of a crispy-yet-juicy roast duckling, several slices of roast pork, a breast of chicken schnitzel, and several slices of meatloaf, all topped off with potato dumplings, bohemian bread dumplings, sauerkraut, sweet-and-sour red cabbage and a gravy boat brimming with brown sauce. Lighter options --- and they do exist here --- include trout amandine, dressed delicately with a lemon butter sauce. For dessert, forgo the strudels, mousses and cakes and try the palacinky, thin homemade crêpes filled with a sweet cream cheese concoction and raspberry jam. The reasonably priced wine list offers dozens of pours by the glass, and there's also a notable selection of Czech and domestic bottled beers. Note that the same owners operate a second location in Evergreen.
