California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Pizza certainly is the main draw at this popular international chain, but the menu at the Prudential Center location also includes Brussels sprouts and bacon flatbread, harvest kale salad and a juicy fire-grilled rib-eye. Start off with a blood orange sangría and pair it up with a gluten-free or hand-tossed pizza. The original margherita delivers Italian tomatoes, melted mozzarella, basil and Parmesan. Try the Neapolitan version with mushroom, sausage and caramelized onion on a classic thin crust. For salad lovers, there are grilled vegetables with diced avocado on crisp romaine (oddly, the vegetables are served warm, a curious contrast to the cold greens); those looking for pasta may opt for chicken tequila fettuccine. Kids can arrange any toppings on their own small pizzas. The butter cake tastes just as good as it sounds and is even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
