Carlos & Pepe's feels like a chain and while it isn’t, it has all the familiar Tex-Mex favorites smothered in melted cheese, like nachos, tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas and combo plates for washing down with a margarita. The Cobb salad is surprisingly good, and the spicy salsa cruda that comes with complimentary chips is also a worthy rendition, chunky with fresh tomatoes. Mud pie brings coffee ice cream in an Oreo crust topped with hot fudge.
