Casa Lario's Restaurant Review:
Casa Lario’s is an all-American success story. Run by the Lario family since the late 1980s, the casual, neighborhood place with walls plastered with old Cuban photos, maps and newspapers is now operated by the grown kids of the founders. For a taste of the island, get tamales with pork steamed in banana leaf wrappers, fried chickpeas with Spanish sausage, ham and onions or a choripan sandwich with chorizo and grilled onions. There’s also picadillo a caballo bringing seasoned ground beef with olives and raisins topped with a fried egg, and chicharrones de pollo (mojo-marinated deep-fried chicken chunks). Flan is sweet enough to make your fillings ache.
