Chao Thai Restaurant Review:

There are just over a half-dozen tables at this Thai restaurant in Elmhurst and it has loyal patrons citywide --- so get here early or be prepared to wait. The menu is extensive and nearly everything is a winner: panang curry and spicy and satisfying soups (go for the tom zabb). It’s a good idea to start with a papaya salad or meatballs (and accompanying chili sauce). There's also good grilled calamari and plenty of variations on the theme of larb, a meat salad of sorts mixed with mint and scallion. Just be sure to bring some beer (it’s BYOB) to cool off the taste buds.
