Charleston's Restaurant Review:
Though the franchise has expanded to several states, Charleston's has been a staple of Oklahoma City dining for twenty years. Patrons anticipate attentive service and know their menu selections will be delivered just right every time. The flickering gas lights against the dark wood interior lend a feeling of fine dining to the casual atmosphere. Tables and booths are filled during lunch and dinner, but efficient service keeps your wait to a minimum. Each menu item is Charleston’s own version of an American classic, but the baked potato soup and baby-back ribs are standouts. Try the tangy chopped brisket slider; the extra-thin-crust, basil and Italian sausage pizza; or the combination of fresh pineapple, dates, strawberries, feta cheese, spiced pecans, sunflower seeds and mixed greens that comprise Walt’s Champagne chicken salad. Tasty entrées include the salmon Caesar salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and scallion aïoli; Charleston's rendition of chicken Marsala; and a juicy burger topped with grilled onions. Pair your choices with sides like garlic mashed potatoes, glazed carrots or burgundy mushrooms, and finish it all off with a bite of rich homemade Key lime pie.
