Bustling Cheebo brightens a ho-hum stretch of Sunset and stands like a beacon for Hollywood Hills-dwellers and comfort food-seekers alike. Pizzas are the main draw, but there is much more to Cheebo, including healthy options like vegan lentil soup and mesquite-grilled, free-range chicken. With several different tagines offered with couscous and harissa, there’s also a definite North African spin to the menu. A wide variety of respectable sandwiches and salads are served, and daily dinner specials range from fried chicken to a braised lamb burger to seafood skewers. The wine list is reasonably priced, and for dessert, regulars like the chocolate caprese cake. The intimate, art-filled space, splashed in orange paint, has a funky, endearing sense of style.
