Dassara Restaurant Review:
“Brooklyn ramen” is what this 55-seat industrial-chic Cobble Hill restaurant calls its cuisine. This doesn’t mean the dishes are named after famous people from the borough, or that the ingredients were grown on the roof by bearded hipsters. Dassara’s chefs are reimagining the iconic Japanese noodle dish by way of non-traditional ingredients. The deli ramen includes pastrami and matzo balls; Xi’an ramen, named for the region in far western China, is a slurp-worthy concoction of spicy cumin-spiked lamb sausage and poached egg in a rich lamb broth. While the wine list is decent, opt for one of the saké- and soju-based cocktails.
