DuMont Restaurant Review:
Along with Diner, DuMont was one of the first Williamsburg restaurants to cater to hipsters with a discerning palate. With a focus on hungry-man items, this restaurant doesn’t push the envelope too far. The burger, on a brioche bun, is hefty and rich; the “dumac & cheese” overflows with a mixture of cheddar, Gruyère, Parmesan, bacon and radiatore. DuMont rises above simple fare with entrées like the fresh herb and ricotta raviolo in a creamy mushroom broth, with butternut squash and wild mushrooms. There’s even a cheese plate for dessert.
