Eiderdown Restaurant Review:
Historic and once-working class Germantown, with its very ordered streets of well-kept shotgun houses and meticulously maintained little lawns, is now a trendy neighborhood. Young urban pioneers pack the traditional local watering holes and the reinvented ones such as Eiderdown, which features 21 craft beer taps and a kitchen presided over by chef Brian Morgan. Appetizers include duck fat popcorn and pretzel sticks with a selection of mustards or beer cheese. Savory mains range from braised rabbit and green bean casserole to pork shoulder with black currants and pistachios, and barbecued quail stuffed with corn pudding. A handsome antique bar occupies one long wall of the restaurant and serves up an international selection of wine and craft cocktails. Staff is always pleased to discuss the virtues of the food and brews. For dessert, if the almond cookie sandwich with lemon curd and blueberry filling is available, order it.
