Erie Cafe Restaurant Review:
This Italian steakhouse pairs meat with pasta creations and offers classics such as chicken Vesuvio and veal Parmigiano --- often with success, or so suggests its longstanding clientele. But what we like more than anything is the fried ravioli starter that’s kicked-up with pungent blue cheese. You’ll also find familiar choices like calamari, baked clams and prime rib. How good are they? Not bad, but in the pecking order of steakhouses in a city known for its high-quality meat, this place doesn’t reach the top five. Desserts are standard steakhouse sweets (think chocolate lava cake and house-made tiramisu), but we do like the supper club atmosphere, what with its oversize booths, bountiful wood details and killer riverside patio.
