Figs Restaurant Review:
A charming spot near the Philadelphia Museum of Art celebrates eclectic Mediterranean cuisine, in the capable hands of John Margraff. Starters include baked Brie in a clay pot with honey lavender and toasted almonds, or hummus and applewood-smoked-salmon pizza. Choose from entrées such as a braised lamb shank tagine or grilled king shrimp over orzo with Indonesian curry and topped with sautéed spinach. Greek pasta and whole roasted fish round out the offerings. In this casual, sunny environment, fig or banana ice cream and Middle Eastern cookies are a must. Cash only, so come prepared.
