Fire Works Restaurant Review:
The rocking stepchild of Leesburg’s Tuscarora Mill restaurant tucked in right next door, Fire Works offers a casual destination for those who want to grab a pizza and go, or sit alfresco or in a chatty indoor setting. Wood-fired pies come with wacky toppings --- think of the Black Sheep with lamb sausage, tomatoes, spinach and a balsamic glaze, and you get the idea. But the kitchen doesn’t stop with pizzas: consider the hefty sandwiches --- the Fire Works hoagie is built with chorizo, Italian meats, peppers and cheese; homespun pasta; and even a Virginia mac ‘n’ cheese with local ham, cheeses and peas. Classic hand-crafted beers from the area and abroad are offered, too. Also located at 2350 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, 703-527-8700.
