Gottino Menu
Casual and cozy vinoteca with savory bite-size Italian fare.
Gottino Restaurant Review:
This diminutive wine bar is little more than a long bar in a narrow West Village space. But it sure packs a punch. Gottino is casually rustic with sophisticated vinos and tapas-size dishes. After you’ve had your fill of cracking the free walnuts, the dry, fizzy Prosecco pairs nicely with the sun-dried tomatoes, capers and cheese on crostini. Next up could be the fruity Viognier that complements the Gorgonzola dolce latte---a smoky spreadable cheese. Want heartier fare? Try a nutty rosso vino and the salami marinated in garlic, oregano and olive oil or homemade chicken liver pâté with Madeira. The wine menu features regional Italian selections and there are also daily specials on the chalkboard at the front of the bar. If you’re tired after a long day, grab one of the mismatched stools at the white marble-topped bar. If you’re an early bird, go for one of the tables; after six o'clock, the trendy, young urban crowd grabs the seats on a finders-keepers basis at this no reservations, molto piccolo wine bar.
