Gott's Roadside Restaurant Review:
The Ferry Building Marketplace outpost of Gott’s Roadside (formerly Taylor's Automatic Refresher) is a sleek, urban version of the original, opened in 1949 in St. Helena. A giant red neon EAT presides over the kitchen like a crown jewel espousing the basic premise of Gott’s: simple, fast food is good food. The menu may be born out of the fast food idea, but it is a casual, California style that shines through. Tacos are made with duck confit; cafeteria-style burgers are built with all-natural beef; french fries are laced with the scent and flavor of roasted garlic. Daily specials include barbecued pulled pork or portobello Reuben sandwiches. Many microbrews are served cold and local wines are available by the glass. On sunny days, it is best to take your ahi burger and white pistachio milk shake to the huge outdoor eating area on the Embarcadero.
