Haandi Restaurant Review:
Well-established Haandi restaurant offered one of the first Indian dining experiences in the metro area, and it continues to hold its own against a flood of Indian upstarts. The menu reads like a guidebook to Indian eats, and you won't find much that's unfamiliar or jolting. Note that all foods are mildly spiced and if you want to turn up the heat you'll have to ask. Hence, it may appeal to diners who like temperate, recognizable dishes. We enjoy the unusual daal masala, a simmer of various lentils cooked in mild spices, and credit the tandoor cook for good bread. Haandi's chefs take pride in the careful way they balance spices, perhaps keeping in mind those with a tame palate.
