Hamura Saimin Stand Restaurant Review:
Hearty, satisfying food at low prices is the draw at Hamura Saimin Stand, which makes it one of those good local eateries that's always crowded. The setting is super casual, with folks eating side-by-side at long, freestanding counters. The specialty is different types of saimin --- the Japanese meal-in-a-bowl of savory beef broth, lots of crinkled noodles, various vegetables, fish cake, pork, beef and slivers of Spam. Chicken and beef sticks (grilled meats on a skewer) are smoky and tasty. When it's time for dessert, you won't want to miss the lilikoi chiffon pie. One of the best features: You can buy fresh, house-made noodles to take home and cook yourself.
