Indian Garden Restaurant Review:
One of the best-looking Indian restaurants on the Devon Avenue strip also has one of the biggest (and most reliably enjoyable) menus. Specialties cooked in a kadhai (iron wok) and on a tawa (griddle-like iron plate) help show off the range of this complex, centuries-old cuisine, while tandoori choices go beyond the standards to include chicken breasts in almond sauce and barbecued mahi mahi. There are even several types of samosas; every one we've tried delivers. Don't ignore seafood, including an appetizer of jumbo shrimp in a tomato-based sauce, or vegetables, among them savory spinach and mustard greens simmered with butter. Almost everything is well prepared and moderately priced given the quality, be it the silky curries or the chewy, dippable naan. Finish with kulfi (un-churned ice cream) or a mango shake. There's a full bar, too.
