Indie Cafe Restaurant Review:

Normally we are hesitant when a restaurant claims to be proficient at more than one type of cuisine. But Edgewater’s Indie Café proves us wrong, serving both notable Japanese and Thai dishes. This casual neighborhood spot with see-through, futuristic fixtures aims to please with its BYOB policy and a large selection of reasonably priced options (go at lunchtime for even greater savings). Separated by cuisine, there are some 150 items to choose from, including rolls and nigiri on an extensive sushi menu. Good starters include the cucumber, carrot and onion salad in a pineapple vinaigrette, chicken coconut soup and soft crispy chive dumplings. We’re big fans of the flavorful curries, too, including the yellow steak, potato and baby corn varietal. Vegetarians will be at home here, with numerous maki rolls on offer. Poke and robata add some depth to the menu, along with several desserts including sweet sticky rice with mango and Thai taro custard.
