Ippolito's Family Style Italian Restaurant Restaurant Review:
George and Toni Ippolito used family recipes to establish this classic family-style Italian-American restaurant chain in Atlanta in 1989. The place is known for its consistency and large portions of red-sauced pastas, veal, pizza and chicken entrées. If you’re feeding a crowd on a budget, here's where you want to be. Heady aromas from the kitchen will almost make you forget the crowds, the kids and the TVs. Manicotti, calzone and similar classics are well done. Vegetarians --- and others --- will like the broccoli linguine, which is a menu mainstay. For dessert, try the cannoli, although the tiramisu is the most popular choice. Wine offerings are serviceable if not exciting. Waits can be very long, especially on weekends, leaving some patrons to go for a carry-out order instead. Weekday dinner closes at 9 p.m.
