The Irish Rover Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: The 19th century brick building that houses The Irish Rover started out as a saloon, so the bar with cozy wooden booths, main dining room with working fireplace, and side room with more booths as well as tables make the place feel exactly like the well-established neighborhood watering hole that it is. Owner Michael Reidy hails from County Clare, and his presence provides a great deal of the pub's charm.
Food & Drinks: Authentic dishes include fish 'n' chips (yes, malt vinegar is on every table), cottage pie, and bangers and mash. Scotch eggs are listed on the starters menu, but it's easy to make a meal of a couple, washed down with a pint of Guinness or Harp, and rotating taps meander through a range of local and imported craft beers. A few decent wines also are offered. Friendly staff are happy to advise on ale and Irish whisky lists. Just when you thought life couldn’t get better, you'll find sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu.
