J. Gilbert's Restaurant Review:
Although part of a regional chain, J. Gilbert's does a better job than many of its ilk. The restaurant serves wood-fired steaks, including center-cut filet mignon, sirloin, porterhouse and Kansas City strip in a clubby, elegant setting. But there also are plenty of other choices for those not fond of red meat: seared Georges Bank scallops and blackened chicken penne, to name a few. Indulge in a piece of cake (chocolate velvet, coconut, etc.). Consider stopping in for happy hour (4 p.m.-7 p.m. Sun.-Friday) for oysters on the half shell, other appetizers and specialty martinis.
