Jinky's Cafe Restaurant Review:
This is a great little neighborhood find, particularly if you like breakfast all day long but dread those ubiquitous chains. Jinky's is no-frills, but lively colors and some Hollywood artwork warm up the place. The breakfasts are oversized, such as a 12-ounce rib-eye steak with eggs, huevos rancheros or eggs Benedict, plus a variety of crêpes, pancakes and waffles. The "Sherman Oaks" is made with spinach, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, and bananas Foster cakes provide a sweet hint of New Orleans. For lunch, chopped Italian and Santa Fe chicken salads are very generously portioned, and 20 varieties of chili round out the menu, with ingredients ranging from spicy mango to smoked ground turkey. Jinky’s isn’t well known for dinner, but offers a full menu of pastas, steaks and Mexican-inspired dishes, capped with pies, cookies and sundaes. Other locations.
