About the restaurant: Situated on one of the busiest blocks of bustling Magazine Street, Joey K’s is that little neighborhood joint that never changes, and that’s just the way the locals like it. For some New Orleanians, the place evokes the days when many a corner was occupied by the same kind of low-priced, family-style restaurant. Picture the tiny bar right in the dining room, complete with beer taps, a chalkboard with the daily specials, and tables tightly situated throughout.

Food & Drinks: There’s nothing exotic on the menu: chicken-fried steak, spaghetti and meatballs, jambalaya, crispy fried catfish, and a fried soft-shell crab dinner. For dessert, we suggest “Miss Cathy’s Brownie Pie” à la mode. The wine list consists of ten selections. Service is friendly and efficient. The lively bar offers a great seat to catch a Saints game and partake of some interesting people-watching.
