Ken's Artisan Pizza Restaurant Review:
In a side foyer of Ken's Artisan Pizza, a pile of wood is stacked and ready to fire up a pizza oven so hot that the pies, with their thin, crispy crusts, cook in minutes. That's a good thing, as you may have waited a long time for a table at this popular pizzeria, especially on weekends. Rustic décor features a wood-beamed ceiling with tables and a bar recycled from a historic roller coaster. Pizza toppings tend to the sparse and simple, and include soppressata, fennel sausage and onions, anchovy and olives. Balance your meal with a variety of well-conceived and prepared vegetable sides, featuring fresh market produce. For dessert, try something hot from the oven, such as a rhubarb crisp (available seasonally), or dip a spoon into house-made gelato. And to drink, there is a selection of wines by the bottle and glass. No reservations are accepted, and groups of more than 10 aren't easily seated.
