L.A. Burdick Chocolate Restaurant Review:
Named for the talented, Swiss-trained chocolatier Larry Burdick, this tiny Cambridge boîte is one of Harvard Square's most sought-after hangouts. The Brattle Street outpost of Burdick’s New Hampshire empire, narrow and sepia-toned, casts a European light on its tweedy, quietly conversing customers. Consider something from the single-source hot chocolate menu, which features an earthy Ecuadorian with hints of mint, spices and coffee. Pair it with a slice of mocha cake made with espresso and coffee butter cream, a Viennese-style pastry, a sampler of truffles or other chocolate morsel. Also located at 220 Clarendon St., Boston, 617-303-0113.
