La Ferme Restaurant Restaurant Review:
A farmhouse setting in the middle of staid Chevy Chase distinguishes this landmark Maryland restaurant. In business for several decades, the French-style eatery offers a classical French onion soup to start, as well as house-smoked rainbow trout with a new potato/cucumber salad and Prince Edward Island mussels steamed in garlic butter and white wine sauce, served with straw potatoes. These may launch your meal of grilled Dover sole with lemon butter or potato-crusted filet of salmon plated atop ratatouille. It’s an extensive menu with plenty to tempt, including such desserts as a chocolate and Grand Marnier mousse cake. The wine list includes an extensive array of French wines with a smattering of California and other labels from abroad.
