Lala's Argentine Grill Restaurant Review:
This branch of a Melrose Avenue favorite serves traditional Argentine cooking in a small, bustling room illuminated with colorful hand-painted ceiling panels, while earth-toned walls display modern art. It’s a casual yet slightly trendy setting in which to enjoy some topnotch empanadas with fillings such as beef, chicken, spinach, or ham and cheese. Blood sausages and fried calamari as well as several sandwiches and pastas are also available. For larger plates, tender chicken breast comes topped with garlic and parsley; the "arroz del campo" is an appealing blend of yellow rice with peppers, garlic, onion and mushrooms in a creamy tomato sauce, topped with feta. However, the "plato mixto" may provide somewhat tough steak and sweetbreads. Traditional flan or crêpes filled with dulce de leche make a satisfying finale.
