Le Happy Restaurant Review:
Le Happy doesn't look like much from the outside, only an uninspiring storefront overlooking a maze of highway off and on ramps. But once inside, its quirky heart is revealed in deep-red walls, a glittering disco ball hanging from the ceiling, and Polaroids featuring regular patrons in the restrooms. At night, the place comes into its own as a hip and rockin' spot. An extensive selection of crêpes, savory and sweet, are the menu item of choice. Made with whole-grain flours (buckwheat for savory versions, whole-wheat for sweet), the crȇpes have unexpected flavors and are branded with clever names. Le Trash Blanc, a buckwheat crêpe stuffed with ham and cheddar, is served with a foamy Pabst Blue Ribbon brew. Sweet crêpes, however, are the most inspired, with chocolate banana, strawberries, poached pear and coconut as standouts. Gluten-free crêpes are available upon request. Kids may order Le Happy meal, a cheese crêpe paired with fresh fruit and a toy. And if you don't find your crêpe diverting enough on its own, peruse the basket of games for a little grownup entertainment. Le Happy recently changed ownership, and service can be slow and erratic.
